Sedona Body…because we’re all one body!
Mark Pruss and Sedona Body
Sedona Body began with Mark Pruss, a professional fitness trainer and Performance Coach. Mark has worked with a wide variety of clients, from adolescent to top amateur and professional athletes, coaching them to their peak performance. Mark is proud to have worked with athletes that have played in these fine organizations: Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Basketball Association, and over 40 NCAA Division 1 Schools.
Mark began his path while attending Arizona State University, met and interviewed with Head Strength Coach Bill Allerheiligan, who had just arrived from the University of Nebraska. Bill was a Founding Member, President and Member of the Board of Directors of the NSCA National Strength and Conditioning Association. Mark was subsequently hired by Bob Gildersleeve as a Trainer/Coach to work with student athletes.
In 1978 Mark had the privilege of working as a Trainer/Coach with the great Jon Cole at his facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. Jon Cole was a two-time All-American and National AAU Champion in Track and Field as a discus thrower. He is also the first man to Squat 900 lbs and is one of the world’s all-time great Powerlifters, coach, and athlete.
Mark was also facing his own hurdle: Battling life-long depression. It was during this enormous struggle that Mark realized the benefits exercise and sound nutrition play in coping with a debilitating illness. Although Mark was better able to cope with his depression, and his clients were achieving excellent results with these methods, there was always a missing component…
The "Aha Moment" arrived when Mark was first introduced to energy work after a serious car accident in 1984. Mark travelled to Sedona, Arizona where he discovered the teachings of Dr. David Hawkins. He dedicated himself to the study of Applied and Behavioral Kinesiology, specifically the works of Dr. John Diamond and Dr. David R. Hawkins. Additional disciplines include: Thought Field Therapy® TFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques® (EFT®), Acu-POWER, and PSYCH-K®, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), The Sedona Method®, and HeartMath®.
Mark soon discovered his depression and his clients’ progress toward wellness and peak performance had not only the adherence to a nutrition and exercise programs but also what was happening in the mind and heart.
Well-defined goals and objectives and ultimately personal performance were often sabotaged by fears and limiting beliefs. How could these ways of thinking be neutralized and reprogrammed – allowing the mind and body to become healthier and maximize performance?
The answer has been developed within a holistic, wellness approach…The Sedona Body Mastery Program.
Mark designed the program to offer distinctive, customized strategies that produce lasting and permanent mental, emotional and physical change, engaging the heart and the spirit along the way.

Inspiration is reflected in the Sedona Body Kokopelli symbol. It is through meditation and prayer that we gain our greatest inspiration and the consciousness to serve. Including inspiration, the five strands of hair represent our core values. Colors range from the vibrant yellow of the sun and the rich color of the red rocks illustrating the beauty that is Sedona, Arizona.
Participant Centricity is honoring the belief that we are all connected, and our participants are at the center of everything we do. Our products and services must be tuned to their needs. Every action we take must be aimed at providing the best opportunities to our participants, and we must listen to our participants and champion their interests at every moment.
Compassion means a deep feeling for and understanding of others without regard to race, age, creed, or social standing. This includes acceptance, kindness, generosity, forgiveness, caring, friendship, respect, love and sharing toward all participants. All participants are a son or daughter, brother or sister, father or mother.
Perseverance means the inner strength to remain constant and passionate to our mission.
Accountability means owning our actions. Clearly, to be successful long term, we all must be accountable to each other, our participants, our organization and our communities. Sedona Body supports organizations that educate and serve children in the wellness experience.
